Grace graduated from Art Center College of Design with a BFA in Illustration and Fine Art. She has worked for fabrication houses building custom mascots for stage, stop motion, and film. She has also worked as a costume designer and fabricator for FX, Disney, Investigation Discovery, and more. As a Fashion designer, she has produced garments within the Kids and Missy contemporary department. Her personal passion within the fashion industry, is small batch production, sustainable cycles and materials, and one of a kind pieces. She often reuses and upcycles found and vintage materials.
Storytelling has always been an essential part of Grace’s work. Moments often look like a jointed stitch, broken lines, a frayed edge, and the patched or poked mended sweater. Details, small fragments and leftover pieces have always felt like intimate connections and deeply personal conversations. Grace has always tried to offer the same texture of life in her own storytelling.
Four works inspired by this time in isolation and the lovable unloved bodies of fashion.
