Graduation Application Process

All students must complete and submit the online Graduation Application in Student Planning by January 31, 2020. To access the application, please log-in to your Self-Service Student Planning account and choose the category “Graduation Overview”.

Eligibility Criteria to Participate in Commencement

Graduate Students

  1. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 by January 31, 2020.
  2. Must be scheduled to complete graduate program on or before August 31, 2020 (courses not scheduled must be planned in Student Planning by January 31, 2020).

Undergraduate Students

  1. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 by January 31, 2020.
  2. Must be scheduled to complete undergraduate program on or before August 31, 2020 (courses not scheduled must be planned in Student Planning by January 31, 2020).
  3. Must have eight (8) or fewer non-core (elective/general education) units remaining by January 31, 2020 with a plan to complete these units on or before August 31, 2020.

Graduate Requirements and Special Recognition at Commencement 

  • Students will not be officially processed as graduates or receive their diploma until all coursework/ degree requirements have been satisfied and evaluated by the registrar.  
  • For undergraduates with a 3.96 GPA or higher, all degree requirements must be met by March 1, 2020 in order to be recognized for High Distinction during commencement.
  • All WLS members who are eligible to participate in commencement may wear their WLS medallion at the commencement ceremony.
  • All students who are U.S. military veterans and eligible to participate in commencement will be recognized during commencement, and will be given a military medallion to wear at the commencement ceremony.
  • Any student eligible to participate in commencement who has a relative who will be commencing this year, or a relative who is a University of Redlands alumnus, may attend the Medallion Ceremony and will be given a Legacy medallion to wear at the commencement ceremony.
  • Any student, who participated in a School of Business International Program (aka Study Abroad) prior to April 18, 2020 and is eligible to participate in commencement, will be given an International Programs stole to wear at the commencement ceremony.
