Participants will visit two of the most vibrant business and cultural regions in Southeast Asia. Students will study business development in Bangkok, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). You will experience life and the rich cultural traditions of Thailand and Vietnam. In Bangkok you will experience the “Venice of the East” with the Chao Phraya River and its canals. You will cruise by long tail boat through exotic flora and picturesque canal houses. An optional trip outside of Bangkok will take you to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market where you will cruise right up to vendors selling local produce and to the nearby Elephant Village for an elephant ride. In Hanoi we will travel to Halong Bay where we will board our own boat and experience breathtaking limestone islands, rock formations, and caves while having lunch. While in Saigon we have the option of spending an entire day exploring the Mekong Delta where you will experience the locals’ way of life and traditions.

The Thailand-Vietnam study abroad program provides the opportunity for participants to see how business is conducted in some of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant markets, and to consider the social, political, and economic effects of the two countries. Students visit a variety of international corporations as well as local businesses—some very old and others a relatively new presence in the market—to learn about business traditions and innovations.

Tour the Temple of the Golden Buddha (golden statue weighs 5.5 tons), Temple of the Reclining Buddha, and the Grand Palace with all its treasures in Bangkok. Shop for gold jewelry in Bangkok at the oldest gold market in the city or negotiate with vendors at the Floating

Market. Explore the Old Quarters in Hanoi along with other sites and then join us on the optional Motorbike Foodie Tour to enjoy local delicacies and learn about Vietnamese cuisine. Tour the Reunification Palace in Saigon and then enjoy the temples and Ben Thanh Market, one of the best places to shop. No matter where your interests and tastes take you, you’ll find this trip to be an immensely rewarding educational and travel experience.
