Dear Class of 2020 Graduates,
The Commencement Committee recently met and reviewed options for Class of 2020 Commencement celebrations, which had been rescheduled for Homecoming Weekend in fall 2020. Unfortunately, the continued uncertainty about San Bernardino County COVID health and safety regulations has led the College and the Schools to cancel those October events. We know this is disappointing, but the county would need to be off of the State of California watch list and "in phase four" in order to host the events such as those we had planned for that weekend, and that seems unlikely at this time.
The committee is now reviewing options for spring semester celebrations during the same week as the Class of 2021 Commencement, which is scheduled for April 28 through May 5, 2021. We will announce a decision about what each School and the College has decided to do by October 15.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact the deans, or my office. We'll be sure to bring your ideas forward to the next Commencement committee meeting.
