Shana Higgins attended the teacher track of the Association of College and Research Libraries' Institute for Information Literacy Immersion '08 Program. She planned and chaired the selection committee for the inaugural Armacost Library Undergraduate Research Award, Spring 2009. She contributes to national librarian professional organizations, such as the Library Instruction Roundtable of the American Library Association, and the Instruction Section and Women's Studies Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.
