Residence Life and Housing wishes you the best as you head into the end of the semester. We are reaching out to provide information regarding Thanksgiving Break and Fall hall closing, as well as a few items to know for next semester.
Thanksgiving Break: All housing remains open during Thanksgiving Break. Dining services will be closed beginning today, Wednesday, November 24 and will reopen on Sunday, November 28 with brunch at 10AM. Fall Hall Closing: Your RA staff will post a checklist flier on your door listing the items to complete prior to leaving campus for Winter Break. You are expected to review the information and complete all items outlined. The last person to leave will write their name on the bottom line to signal all residents have left and that a staff member may enter to complete a safety check of the room to close the building for break. All halls will close for Winter Break on Tuesday, December 14th at 10AM.
Winter Break Housing Petition: If you need a place to stay for Winter Break from Tuesday, December 14th through Saturday, January 8th, such as being an athlete in season, an international/exchange student with housing challenges, or those who are housing insecure, petition for housing using the Winter Break Housing Petition on the MyRedlands Housing Portal. You must petition by December 1st to be considered for housing during any part of the break. Please be aware that all food services are suspended during the entirety of Winter Break.
Empty Space: In the event you have a vacancy in your room or apartment, a roommate will be assigned to you in the near future. Remember the bed and furniture for this space must remain available at all times. If you have an idea of who you would like to move into this space, please communicate that information with us as soon as possible at RLH@redlands.edu. While a placement is not guaranteed, we do our best to incorporate the request.
Studying Abroad, Changing Rooms, or Leaving the University: For students leaving housing or changing rooms at the semester, all check-outs and relocations must be made prior to closing on Tuesday, December 14th at 10AM. Students moving rooms must communicate with the building supervisor for their new room location to coordinate a check-in time at least 24 hours in advance. Please keep in mind those check-in times should be scheduled with enough time for you to move in your belongings and check-out of your current assignment before the halls close.
Spring Semester: After Winter Break, the halls will reopen on Sunday, January 9th at 10AM.
