Volunteer Outreach

At the University of Redlands, our commitment to service begins in our own backyard. We have always been a proud partner in our region and we pledge to offer you opportunities to make a direct impact on the community that has embraced us for more than 100 years.

So strong is our promise that we were among only three universities nationwide to receive the 2007 President's Award for Service to Children from Disadvantaged Circumstances by the Corporation of National and Community Service.

How do we do it?

We do it through a wide array of student service groups. Programs like Big Buddies and CHAMPS (College High School and Mentoring program) which pairs Redlands students with area middle and high-school students as mentors and friends, give you a chance to work one-on-one with local youth in need.

We do it through our School of Music, which strives to offer the beauty of music to all members of community through programs like the Community School of Music and Arts Summer Workshops. Young musicians from our region can come to our campus for workshops and performance opportunities with our passionate music faculty.

And we do it in countless other ways, every single day, through our Office of Community Service Learning, the central campus office that pairs you with service opportunities.

We do it because we believe that when you seek to change the world, you'll find no better place to start than home.
