Williams Hall

The atmosphere at Williams Hall is alive with a sense of positive energy and community. This hall is home to 125 first year students in select first-year seminars, five student Community Assistants, and a professional staff member who serves both Williams and East Halls. The Residence Life and Housing staff provide a supportive and dynamic environment in which students can learn and grow both personally and academically. Because these students are new to the University, they are given extra support in discovering how to make the most of their college experience.

Williams Hall is air-conditioned, carpeted, and contains single-, double-, and triple-occupancy rooms with hallway bathrooms. The residence hall is co-educational. Each floor contains two lobbies for socializing, as well as study rooms for quiet work alone or in small groups. The community also contains a pool table, ping pong table, television with cable, and a small kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, sink, and refrigerator. The laundry facilities for Williams Hall are conveniently located next door in the rear of the Orton Center.

Residents of Williams Hall engage in Community Standards meetings throughout the semester in which they discuss the policies they live by and hold each other accountable. These meetings give students the opportunity to communicate openly and effectively and live harmoniously with others around them.

Community Assistants in Williams Hall provide students with programming and events, such as movie nights, socials, crafts, study nights, various topics, and sports events. The student staff members are available to residents should they need help finding a location on campus, a peer to talk to, academic advice, or a roommate mediation. Our Community Assistants are chosen from a selective hiring process and trained prior to the start of the school year.
