Sample Itinerary for High Sierra Backpacking and Rock Climbing , subject to (and likely to) change:

Day 1

Up early, as you’ve got a big first day!  After logging some van miles up the Eastern Sierra, you’ll meet your rock climbing guides for an awesome half day climbing in the spectacular Alabama Hills.  After wrapping up, you’ll head to your front country campsite at 9,200’ above sea level!

Day 2

Organize your gear, lace up those shoes and strap on your packs – this is your first day entering into the Hoover Wilderness.  Expect some elevation gain and some challenge, but the mileage is relatively short and your lakeside campsite is worth the effort.

Day 3

Leaving your heavy packs behind, today you’ll walk into the high alpine up to the largest glacier in the northern Sierra.  Passing beautiful alpine lakes, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view over the Sierra crest.

Day 4

A lazy morning is in order, with lunch on the trail before reaching your vans and front country campsites.  Campfires, s'mores and reflections are in order tonight.

Day 5

Pack up camp and head down 395 to Redlands for a shower and a celebration.
