Trip Description:

Explore our local mountains by Rock Climbing in Big Bear and backpacking in the San Jacinto National Forest.  While only an hour away from campus, these mountain towns are nearly 15 degrees cooler than the valleys below, making them ideal locations for summer, outdoor activity.

While rock climbing you will meet Rebecca and David (our AMGA climbing guides), who will introduce you to the sport of Rock Climbing and spend the day helping you push yourself on the alpine granite.  The intro backpack will take you on portions of the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs continuously from Mexico to Canada.  Throughout this trip students will practice Leave No Trace principles while learning leadership skills and activities.

No prior backpacking or Rock-Climbing experience is necessary for this trip.  This trip does include hiking with moderate elevation gain and is recommended for students who are interested in challenging themselves physically.

Trip Cost:  $395.00
