Trip Description:

Explore the rich representations of Southern California in our cultural imagination, from the myth of endless summers on the beach to negative images like endless traffic jams.  On this academic journey you’ll start by discovering our region through history, fiction, and journalism.  Visiting regional landmarks, such as the iconic Mission Inn and famous sites across Los Angeles, including the Hollywood Sign, you’ll situate yourself in these places through writing and photography.  How do places shape our visions?

This is a great way to get started on college academics through an interdisciplinary approach to Southern California focusing on literature, history, and writing.

Trip Cost:  $395.00
