Career Treks (Fall & Spring Semesters)

A Career Trek is an opportunity for a student to explore employers in another city. The University of Redlands hosts two types of Career Treks: one-day local Career Treks hosted around Southern California, and one longer multi-day Career Trek outside of the Southern California area. See more information about these events below.

Southern California Trek (Fall Semester)

Career Trek LA
Friday, November 8th 2019
All Day

This specific trek will visit companies in the Southern California area. Selected organizations can have a variety of positions available, and hire across multiple departments/units. The cost for students is free; the Office of Career & Professional Development will cover travel expenses to and from campus, and provide lunch for students. The Trek is open to all students; however, because of visit restrictions set by employers, space is limited.

To be eligible, you must be available to attend a Trek Info Session, a Trek Pre-Departure Meeting (virtual or in person), and participants must be available for the full day of the Career Trek. An application must be submitted before the stated due date to attend Career Treks.

All application deadlines, info session, meeting and event dates and times can be found under the "Events" section in Handshake.

Spring Break Trek (Spring Semester)

Spring Break 2020 (specific dates/times coming soon)

The Spring Break Career Trek is an opportunity for a student to explore companies in another city outside of the Southern California area. Dates are subject to change, but the event will fall within Spring Break each year. Participating organizations will represent a wide array of industries and will highlight various fields.

The cost for students will include their own travel to and from Redlands to the Career Trek destination. The University of Redlands OCPD will cover the cost of lodging in the city, and in-city transportation. Many meals will be covered, but some cost for meals will be the students’ responsibility. Funding is available for scholarships. If financial assistance is needed to attend the Spring Break Career Trek, please reach out to the OCPD by email at ocpd@redlands.edu for more information.

Treks are open to all students; however, because of visit restrictions set by employers, space is limited.

To be eligible, students must be available for an information session, two Trek Pre-Departure Meetings (virtual or in person), and must be available for the entirety of the Career Trek. An application must be submitted before the stated due date to attend Career Treks.
