Recognizing your class did participate in some of the New Student Orientation Programs but knowing that your start to college was unlike any before, we are excited to host a Sophomore Orientation that will take place on Monday, August 30, 2021 – Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Your participation will help build your Redlands Community, knowing some of you will be on campus for the first time, and others had a unique Spring 21 on-campus experience. Sophomore Orientation will include your participation in on-campus experiences with workshops, activities, and social events specifically designed for the Class of 2024.

Sign up to participate in a Sophomore Day Excursion on Saturday, September 11th, co-sponsored by Student Involvement and Success and Outdoor Programs.
Cactus to Clouds Tram Ride and Nature Walk - Explore the local mountains with a bus out to the Palm Springs Arial Tramway, where you’ll be transported thousands of feet above the desert floor to the alpine Round Valley. After enjoying lunch with stunning views over the Coachella Valley, we’ll depart for a quick nature walk through the pines before descending back to the valley floor and returning to campus in time for dinner.
Orange County Beach Cleanup and Surfing Intro– Experience the best of the SoCal beaches by catching some waves and giving back. Departing Orange County in the morning, you’ll do your part with a trash cleanup through the Surfrider Foundation. After lunch, enjoy some time in the sand – or if you’re feeling adventurous, join the surf guides for a quick lesson, grab your board and try to catch your first wave. Surfs up! We’ll be back on campus in time for a late dinner.
Signups for the Sophomore Day Excursion will be available during Sophomore Orientation and at the Involvement Fair.
If the Sophomore Day Excursion leaves you wanting more, or you’re looking for a more in-depth outdoor experience, we’re creating a set of Fall Break Trips specific to the Class of 2024. Here you’ll be able to connect with your classmates and try new activities on a multi-night adventure. Capacity is limited, so be sure to fill out an application on the Outdoor Programs website.
