Officer Holsome began his law enforcement career with the California Highway Patrol in 1988.  After serving 34 years with the department, he retired in December 2021.  Upon his graduation from the California Highway Patrol Academy, he was assigned to the South Los Angeles Area and served there for 15 years. Officer Holsome moved on and worked patrol duties out of the Westminster, Santa Ana and the Riverside Area offices.  During his tenure as a California Highway Patrol Officer, he was a Certified Motorcycle Training Officer, Driver Enhancement Instructor, Officer Safety Instructor, Fatal Accident Investigation Team Leader, and a Building and Entry Search Team leader.  In 1991, he was chosen as a member of the Protective Services Detail; a detail which escorts the President, Vice President, First Lady of the United States, and other Foreign Dignitaries.

Officer Holsome joined the Public Safety Department in February of 2023.
