Thomas Ramos, Public Safety Officer

Officer Ramos began his law enforcement career with the California Department of Corrections on April 09, 1994 when he entered the California Department of Corrections Academy. Upon graduation from the academy, he was assigned to Ironwood State Prison in Blythe, California. He remained at Ironwood State prison until November 1995, when he accepted employment with the California Highway Patrol. Upon graduation from the CHP Academy on May 10, 1996, he was assigned to the Barstow Area, where he worked patrol duties. Officer Ramos has worked several areas, including the Barstow, Riverside, and San Bernardino Area CHP Offices, and the Desert Hill Inspection Facility. During his career with the California Highway Patrol, his duties included enforcing the California Vehicle Code, Penal Code, and other related codes. Following 23 years of combined service with the California Highway Patrol and the California Department of Corrections, Officer Ramos retired from the California Highway Patrol in August of 2017.

Officer Ramos joined the Department of Public Safety in August of 2020.
