Assistant Chief Flores joined the Department of Public Safety following a 32-year career with the Riverside Police Department where he retired at the rank of Captain. Assignments have included Patrol Officer and Detective to Commander of Personnel and Training, Special Operations, Aviation, Neighborhood Policing Centers, and Crime Analysis Unit. He has also served as an instructor at the Riverside Police Academy and University of Phoenix. During his various police assignments, Andrew gained significant experience in the areas of higher education issues through the relationship he developed and maintained with the police and public safety departments at University of California, Riverside; Cal Baptist University; La Sierra University; and Riverside Community College.
Assistant Chief Flores retired from the Riverside Police Department in February 2018, and immediately joined the Department of Public Safety.
