Subject: Security Advisory: Redlands Campus Suspicious Person/Trespassing
Early this morning, a female student living on the second floor of the Holt Hall residence hall on the Redlands campus reported that an unknown, uninvited male had been in her unlocked room and was removing her covers while she slept. The person fled the building when she woke up. The victim was shaken but uninjured, and nothing was taken from her room. Public Safety officers arrived approximately three minutes after receiving her call, found evidence indicating the point of entry to the building (a window apparently left open overnight), and searched for the suspect. Our Public Safety officer notified and made a report to the Redlands Police Department, which is investigating.
Please contact Public Safety immediately at extension 8888, or 909-748-8888, if you see a person matching these physical details and acting in a way that causes discomfort or suspicion:
Approximately 20-30 years of age
Brown, chin-long hair (straight or wavy)
6 feet tall
No facial hair
Student Affairs staff have reached out to the victim to offer support. Public Safety officers are actively patrolling the campus and surrounding area, reviewing campus video feed, and watching for this individual. We have increased Public Safety presence in and around the residence halls and added extra officers on the overnight shift to watch the residences, check windows, doors, parking lots, etc.
