About the Fitness Center

Opened during the fall of 2002 and located on the north side of campus, the 7,500 square-foot Fitness Center offers a wide variety of exercise equipment to the University community. The cardiovascular area offers 25 pieces, including treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, and steppers. The selectorized area contains 26 machines; it provides the opportunity to work both the upper and lower body, as well as core muscles. Finally, the state-of-the-art free weight training area boasts three Samson Olympic platforms, four Samson Power Racks, six Samson Olympic Benches, a dumbbell training area, and over 10,000 pounds of weight.

Membership

The Fitness Center is open, free of charge, to all full-time graduate and undergraduate students. Simply bring in your current, valid University of Redlands ID to activate your membership.

Benefit-eligible faculty, staff, and administrators may utilize the facility for free as part of their University benefits package. Family memberships (total of four (4) household members) may be purchased for $15 per month by filling out a payroll deduction form at the Fitness Center.

Adjunct faculty, alumni, and independent contractors, including Harvest Table, Konica Minolta, and Barnes & Noble employees, may utilize the facility by enrolling in a user-fee program. Cost is $15 per month for each individual membership. Membership contracts are filled out and paid for at Events Services in the Hunsaker Building.

Fitness Services

Towel service is provided free of charge to all Fitness Center members.

Locker rooms and showers are provided free of charge to all Fitness Center members. Users are asked to bring their own lock and shower supplies. Lockers are day-use only.

The Fitness Center hosts fitness classes that students can enroll in for course credit. These courses include Personalized Fitness and Dynamic Fitness. Personalized Fitness is a course designed for beginner and intermediate level fitness enthusiasts. Dynamic Fitness sections include both Speed and Agility, as well as Strength and Power. These courses are designed for advanced fitness enthusiasts.
