College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Student Vaccination Policy

The University of Redlands follows guidelines for colleges and universities provided by the state of California and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Vaccines protect students from diseases that can derail academic progress. Everyone on campus, including faculty, staff and visitors--and especially the most vulnerable among us--is safer when students are vaccinated, thanks in part, to the impact increased immunity can have on the greater University community. 

The University of Redlands, in alignment with national guidance and state law, expects all College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) students, at the time of initial enrollment, to attest to receipt of the following vaccinations: 

Measles, Mumps, Rubela (MMR):  series of 2 vaccines
Varicella (chickenpox):  series of 2 vaccines
Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap): to include proof of a booster shot of Td or Tdap within the last 10 years 
Hepatitis B:  series of 3 vaccines 
Meningococcal [1]: at least one vaccine at age 16 or older                                      COVID-19 [2]: primary series, (1-2 dose series)

[1] Common names of this vaccine are menactra, menveo, menomune, and MCV4. This is not the meningitis B vaccine.

[2] Primary series consists of 1-2 doses of an FDA (Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson), or like non-US entity, authorized SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccination.
