Adolfo Guzman-Lopez is an award-winning journalist with over 24 years of experience reporting for Southern California Public Radio – LAist 89.3. He is renowned for his insightful coverage of what defines the unique essence of Los Angeles. His influential work has also shed light on critical issues spanning education, politics, healthcare, and multicultural topics, leaving a lasting positive impact on the Inland Empire, Southern California, and beyond. He recently joined the Department of Journalism and Public Relations at California State University, Long Beach, and hosts The Forgotten Revolutionary podcast. Over the course of his career, Guzman-Lopez’s work has garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious L.A. Press Club’s Radio Journalist of the Year Award in 2006.
Quynh Nguyen is a graduating senior double majoring in Economics and International Relations, with a minor in Spatial Studies. As editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, Quynh believes in the importance of journalism for a dynamic community like U of R. Quynh also tutors economic and calculus courses at the Academic Success and Accessibility Center and is actively involved in fostering the international student community at U of R.
