Steps to commencement and degree completion

Below is important information and instructions on how to apply to participate in the 2017 School of Education Commencement Ceremony. 

I. Eligibility and Application to Participate in Commencement

A. Credential and Graduate Students

Eligibility for commencement is based on the program in which a student is enrolled. In order to be eligible for the April 2017 Commencement ceremony, students must have completed all program requirements or plan to complete by August 31, 2017.

B. Application to Participate in Commencement

Please log in to your Student Planning Systems through your myRedlands account.  Once in your Student Planning System, simply click on the “Graduation Overview” tab, as you must complete the application to participate in commencement. 

*If you completed program requirements prior to January 2017, please RSVP here.

II. Event Information for School of Education

Wednesday, April 19th, 2017

Commencement Dinner

              University of Redlands, Orton Center, 5:30pm

                           Optional/$20per person, reservations are required in advance

Students are strongly encouraged to submit photos of their journey at The University of Redlands for the commencement slideshow.

Thursday, April 20th, 2017

Check-In and Commencement Ceremony

- Graduate Check-In at 4:00pm, Administration Building

- Commencement Ceremony at 5:00pm, Alumni Greek Theatre

Friday, April 21st, 2017


              University of Redlands, Memorial Chapel, 5:00pm

       Medallion Ceremony for Legacy Graduates

              Alumni House West Lawn, 2:30 p.m.

III. Graduation Requirements and Commencement Recognition

A. Students will not be officially processed as graduates or receive their diploma until all program requirements have been satisfied and evaluated by the registrar.  Click here for the Degree Sign-Off Form.

B. All students who are military veterans and eligible to participate in commencement will be recognized during commencement and may wear a veteran’s cord at the commencement ceremony. 

C. Any student eligible to participate in commencement, who has a family member that is either an alumnus of the University or a current student at the University who will be commencing the same year as the student, may be recognized at the Legacy Reception and wear a Legacy medallion at the commencement ceremony.
