The Professional Clothing Closet

What we do

Professional business clothes can be expensive and out of price range for many individuals, especially students. In classic Redlands fashion, we want to help the Bulldog community. In response to this need, we have established a clothing closet on campus where students will be able to get business and professional clothing for free. It works a lot like a food pantry, but for clothes.

To supply the clothing closet, fellow students, alumni, and the community will be invited to donate new and gently used modern clothing, or donate financially to help stock the closet.

The Office of Career & Professional Development offers many free services on campus that help support students to build their career, and the Office of Alumni & Community Relations is excited to offer this resource for students in need to build their professional wardrobe. We hope that this clothing closet will build confidence for students when they go into important interviews, internships, or jobs.

For Students: Accessing the Closet

Location: First Floor, Alumni House 1200 E Colton Ave, Redlands, CA 92374

Hours: Monday-Friday 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

How it works

1. Book an appointment by emailing us at alumni@redlands.edu.
2. After confirming your appointment, visit the Alumni House first floor to try on clothes. The Alumni House is located on the hill between the Tennis Courts and Fraternity Row.
3. Each student can take 3 articles of clothing or 1 full outfit per semester.

For Alumni and Friends: Donations

Monetary Donations

Visit our giving form to make a direct donation to the professional clothing closet that will be used to purchase clothes in needed sizes and styles.

Amazon List Clothing Donations

We have created an Amazon wish list for supporters to purchase new clothing in the sizes and styles needed most.

Personal Clothing Donations

We accept personal clothing donations that meet the following criteria

• • gently used or new professional clothing
  • washed or dry-cleaned
  • no tears or stains

Masculine and Feminine Clothing Needs

• • Business Suits
  • Collared shirts
  • Button-down shirts
  • Slacks
  • Simple belt
  • Ties

Feminine Specific Clothing Needs

• • Modest Skirts
  • Blouses
  • Modest Dresses

Tax Receipts

If you would like a tax receipt for an Amazon Wish List purchase, please forward your order confirmation email to alumni@redlands.edu. For in-person donations of clothing, we will have a paper form where you can designate the items donated and estimated value.
