Description of Activity: Projects are assigned by the Arboretum Staff which are yet to be determined. Prior projects have included weeding and brush clearing, mulch spreading, building steps from timbers, anchoring benches with concrete blocks, painting, building a bamboo xylophone, installation of irrigation system, organizing reference materials.
Equipment to bring: Hat, sunscreen, work gloves, sturdy footwear. *** Plan to stay for lunch, which will be provided by Don and Becky.
About the organization: The Fullerton Arboretum houses a “farm-to-fork” teaching garden, which produces fresh vegetables for Hart Community Homes, a local non-profit organization founded by Bill Hart (’64) which works to assist Orange County youth placed in the foster care system. Learn more
