Melrose Hall opened in 1924 and was originally a men’s dorm. It was paid for by a donation from an anonymous benefactor referred to as “our friend”. The same benefactor donated funds for dorms on several Baptist college campuses, each being called Melrose Hall. Upon his death, the identify of this benefactor was revealed to be Milo C. Treat. Prior to his death, Mr. Treat provided funding for multiple buildings on our campus, including Memorial Chapel. For those of you who would prefer to stay on campus, the Melrose residence hall has been reserved for reunion guests and their families Friday and/or Saturday nights of Alumni Reunion Weekend.
