“Not Quite a ‘New Gilded Age’ and the Danger of Simplistic Historical Comparisons” 
There is much talk lately about the emergence of a new “Gilded Age,” where overly broad (and often poorly argued) comparisons are drawn by political and media commentators between the late 19th century and the present day.  We will explore one aspect of this comparison – wealth distribution – in order to understand where the comparison is apt, and where it is ahistorical.
