Student Life FAQs
Yes, if you need to. Cal-Founders remains open during regularly scheduled vacation breaks, excluding summer. A $20 per night fee is charged to your student account if your permanent address is less than 500 miles from campus.  Sign up sheets are available in Student Life two weeks prior to the start of each break and a $25.00 deposit is required to hold a space for residents.  The deposit may be forfeited if the resident is a no-show.  Deposits are refunded in the Student Life Office in person within the first 10 calendar days following the vacation period.  For more on vacation housing, go to Residence Hall Policies.

A list of all clubs and organizations along with their contact person is available in the Student Leadership and Involvement Center (SLIC), located on the second floor of the Hunsacker University Center. Simply call the contact person for that organization for information on membership and meetings or attend one of the involvement fairs at the beginning of each semester. Greek organizations, as well as academic and honorary groups, have specific criteria and times of year when they accept new new members. More information is available in SLIC.

All meal plans have two distinct parts. Debit dollars encoded on the student I.D. card are used for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, snacks, and maybe a Friday or Saturday dinner. Each student is responsible for how much or how little to spend each day. In the real world, this is called living on a budget.

Sunday through Thursday evenings you are welcome to all-you-care-to-eat dinner service--outstanding food from soup to dessert, and nobody cares if you have seconds.
