Transfer Applicants
Detailed Transfer Information for the College of Arts and Sciences
Each year, about 100 transfer students bring valuable contributions to the University of Redlands. To be considered for admission, a transfer applicant must have graduated from secondary school or the equivalent and must have completed at least 24 semester credits of transferable college-level work from a regionally accredited college or university. Transfer students should have a record showing that the majority of this coursework has been in academic courses. If fewer than 24 credits have been completed, an applicant will be reviewed according to first-year student procedures.
Since Redlands uses a holistic approach to reviewing applications, the profiles of admitted transfer students can vary greatly. However, a successful candidate for admission traditionally has two semesters of full-time course work with no less than a 2.0 in any one course. As with all applicants to Redlands, the candidate for admission must have completed Intermediate Algebra or the equivalent. Two years of a foreign language in high school or successful completion of at least one semester at the college level is also expected. In addition, transfer applicants should take and pass the equivalent of freshmen composition.
The Liberal Arts Foundation
The Liberal Arts Foundation endows students with the fundamental skills essential to effective learning and scholarship and challenges them to examine their own values and the values of society. Every student working toward a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree is required to successfully complete, with a numeric grade, at least one approved course of at least 3 semester units in the categories below. A student who transfers to Redlands may apply acceptable courses taken at any accredited institution toward all Liberal Arts Foundations requirements.

Articulation Agreements
In an ongoing effort to support transfer students, the University of Redlands has established Articulation Agreements with 22 of our local community colleges. These agreements list the acceptable courses that will both transfer and fulfill specific Liberal Arts Foundation requirements. Redlands has Articulation Agreements with the colleges below. If we do not have an Articulation Agreement with your college, you may use any of these agreements as a general guideline for your course selection. Please contact the Admissions Office before registering for a course if you are unsure as to whether it will transfer to Redlands or meet one of our LAF requirements.
Please don't hesitate to contact our office to further discuss the transfer process.
