With a 17-7 trouncing over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, the Bulldog women’s lacrosse team extends its streak to six games.  During its fourth consecutive road game, Redlands took down the Sagehens with a nine-goal outburst in the second half.

After jumping out to a 4-0 lead, the Bulldogs gave up two quick goals to Pomona-Pitzer before responding with another score.  A back-and-forth contest ensued as the Sagehens matched the Bulldogs goal-for-goal in the final 18 minutes of the half.  With an 8-5 lead, Redlands exploded in the second half by rattling off seven unanswered goals to pull away.  Despite back-to-back scores in the final two minutes, the Sagehens failed to recover as the Bulldogs earned a 17-7 victory.

Freshman attack player Christy Smith (St. Louis Park, MN) led the team with five goals and three assists as sophomore attack player Mary Shepherd (Dallas, TX) also racked up five scores.  Junior midfielder Lauren Matta (Holyoke, MA) posted two goals and one assist.  In addition, Redlands gained one goal apiece from junior attack player Aislynn Neish (Portland, OR), sophomore midfielder Haley Kern (Portland, OR), junior midfielder Liza Gray (Centennial, CO), sophomore midfielder Liz Kubacki (Bellevue, WA) and freshman goalkeeper-turned-midfielder Katrina Hostak (Maple Valley, WA).

On defense, senior goalkeeper Lindsay Feig (Hingham, MA) posted 11 saves and six ground balls, while freshman defender Anna Kessler (Portland, OR) tallied four caused turnovers.

The Bulldogs (9-5) close out the regular season with Senior Day on Saturday at 11 a.m. against the Athenas of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
