Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Director of Academic Institutional Research is responsible for research, data gathering, and participates in analysis in institution-wide assessment, program evaluation, retention studies, and various student satisfaction and effectiveness analysis.
- Conducts research on special institutional research/analysis projects.
- Assists in College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, and School of Education with research agenda related to student performance, outcomes, satisfaction, and program effectiveness.
- Coordinates and/or organizes the preparation, dissemination, and analysis of special academic and campus climate surveys.
- Performs senior-level research tasks including data retrieval/collection, tracking, analysis and interpretation, and reporting.
- Provides evaluations and analysis of projects regarding assessment, program evaluation, student performance, effectiveness goals, and related campus climate topics.
- Performs data retrieval, collection, and tracking of data that will be used to facilitate completion of assessment projects, program evaluation, diversity initiatives, retention, course distribution, and various internal and external surveys.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Master’s degree required. Position requires three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible work in institutional research. Successful candidate will have proven computational and analytical skills; strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; demonstrated leadership, supervision, and management ability. Must possess the ability to work with multiple software packages, including spreadsheets, word-processing, and various statistical applications (SPSS or SAS); ability to present qualitative and quantitative information in a user-friendly manner and the ability to work effectively under demands associated with multiple deadlines are essential. Experience with data base technology and client/server computing, preferably Datatel Colleague; data warehousing (archiving); Web programming tools is highly desirable. Academic experience at the university level preferred. Successful candidate must be able to interact competently with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.
