A familiar face to the University of Redlands, Rachaé Bell made the move from student-athlete to assistant coach in the fall of 2007. While coaching the Bulldogs, she works toward her teaching credential through the School of Education.
As a libero/defensive specialist, Bell owns every dig record at Redlands with a career mark of 2,116 digs, single-season record of 888 digs, and single-match record of 55 digs. She also garnered All-American and All-Region honors in 2005 and 2006 to go along with three All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) First Team nods during her illustrious career.
In 2007, Bell completed her Bachelor of Arts in Biology, earning a spot on the Dean’s list on two occasions. Her success in the classroom and on the volleyball court led to College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors during her senior season.
Beyond volleyball, Bell competed as a member of the Bulldog women’s basketball team for three seasons. She looks to wrap up collegiate athletic career during the winter of 2007-08 by playing basketball for first-year Head Coach Rich Murphy.
After completing her credential, Bell plans to attend chiropractic school at Life Chiropractic West in Hayward. She also strives to remain involved with volleyball. Her passion for the sport and her appreciation for working together as a team inspired her to return to her alma mater as an assistant coach.
Outside of the gym, Bell enjoys singing and both types of skiing, as well as spending time with friends and family. She currently resides in Redlands.
