"My name is Ebony Mitchell and I'm a sophomore, and I'm double majoring in psychology and race and ethnic studies.
"I think the biggest learning experiences I've had here have been outside of the classroom. Living in the dorms, having conversations with people, going to a lot of the programs that are put on like by the Multicultural Center, by the Women's Center, by all these different groups.
"Traveling. I haven't before coming to Redlands. I've never been out of the state. I go to Vegas, but I don't even count that, that's a joke.
"So being here last year, I lived in a triple. One of my roommates was from Japan, another one of my roommates was from Utah, and so my mom called us the United Nations. And I just live with my roommate from Japan. She has taught me so much. My roommate who lives in Utah, we went to go to her house for spring break. That was an experience for me. Wow." |
