"This school just definitely offers a lot of opportunity for us to learn about anything we want to. It just depends on the student, how eager they are to learn, how curious they are.
"At this school, premed is not a major, it's a program. It's a set of classes that you have to take, but you really don't have to be a science major to be a premed. You can be an anthropology major and still do premed. That's possible at this school, and that's what I really liked, because I'm interested in many different subjects.
"I'm always eager to learn new things, so I wasn't particularly interested in, just biology or chemistry when I came to this school. I started out taking the premed requirements, taking a lot of science classes, but I also took, English; I took German; I took all the classes that I thought were interesting.
"And then I found that communicative disorders was something that I really enjoyed--something I really liked and felt passionate about--so I decided to go in that direction. But, I know that during these four years I'll still have the room in my schedule to take any kind of classes that I might enjoy." |
