2007: During May Term break, the Redlands football team returned to New Orleans, Louisiana, for Part II of “Bulldogs in the Bayou.” With 60 student-athletes and coaches, the team spent the week working in a manner much different than the 2006 trip. Instead of demolishing and mucking out houses, the team was assigned to rebuilding houses in St. Bernard’s Parish through St. Bernard Project; a non-profit organization dedicated to rebuilding gutted-out yet salvaged houses with volunteer labor and donated building supplies. The team’s daily assignments included framing repair, installing insulation, dry-walling, spackling, and texturing the interior, along with other various odd jobs. A special pinnacle in this year’s trip was the opportunity for the team to meet a number of the homeowners who had lost nearly everything in Katrina and Rita. Their stories and gratitude were a tremendous reward for all who participated.

2006: During May Term break, members of the Bulldog Football team traveled to Louisiana to volunteer in the relief efforts following the destruction and devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. Over 50 student-athletes and coaches paid $150 of their own money and spent up to two weeks mucking out houses for Hilltop Rescue & Relief, an organization dedicated to "providing relief for those suffering from natural disasters."
