Students of both studio art and art history gain much from first-hand knowledge of the creative process. Thus, students pursuing the bachelor of arts in studio art or art history all complete classes that provide experience in studio, historical, graphic, conceptual and critical dimensions of art.
The art program is housed in the Peppers Art Center, which includes classrooms, offices, studios and gallery space.
The university is currently undertaking a "Campaign for the Arts" that seeks to raise $13 million for new, state-of-the-art theatre and fine arts facilities. Construction on the new project is projected to start in the fall of 2007; the new facility is slated to open during the 2008-09 academic year. |
