Maisie Walters became a member of the Bulldog staff as an assistant athletic trainer in the summer of 2007. She arrives from Boise State University, where she served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer while pursuing her Master of Science in Exercise Science. As a Bronco, Walters helped oversee a variety of sports, including volleyball, women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s tennis. She will complete her master’s degree in December 2007.
Prior to attending graduate school, Walters traveled to Australia in order to intern with Sports Medicine Australia, enjoying a great experience in international sports medicine. In 2005, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training at the University of Northern Colorado.
Maisie, which is Scottish for Margaret, is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) as well as the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Her passion for helping student-athletes return to their sport in top form keeps her motivated and committed in her profession.
During her free time, Walters enjoys playing pick-up games of softball, basketball or tennis. She also likes to read, do puzzles, and watch movies. She currently resides in Redlands.
