Visiting Athletic Trainer Information
Welcome to the University of Redlands The Department of Athletics and Athletic Training Staff at the University of Redlands would like to welcome you and/or your team to campus. Below you will find information that you may need during your stay.
Athletic Training Room Services A Certified Athletic Trainer will be available to assist you at all U of R competitions and events. Athletic training staff members will be available to assist all participants at least one hour prior to the start of every event. All teams will have access to one of our two athletic training facilities. The University of Redlands’ Athletic Training Room is located on the north end of campus in the Field House adjacent to the Fitness Center. This main athletic training room is stocked with almost any modality or supplies that are needed. However, if there is something special that you may need, or have questions about anything, please contact us and we will try to accommodate you to the best of our abilities. A satellite athletic training room is located in the west end of Currier Gym, serving direct access to events played in the athletic venues on the south end of campus (basketball, volleyball, softball, and tennis). Within this facility are limited modalities (ESC combo unit, ice machine, treatment and taping tables) and supplies for use for games and practices. Emergency equipment and services will be available at all events and team physicians will be on call if they are not present at the event.
If your team will not be traveling with a certified athletic trainer, please contact us in advance so that we may best care for your athletes. In the event that we are not contacted, any treatments requiring the use of therapeutic modalities require written permission and treatment protocols provided by the visiting team’s athletic trainer. Also, visiting teams are expected to provide their own taping, bracing and/or padding supplies.
Typical Event Sideline Set-up/Supplies -Water, bottles, and cups. -Injury ice, bags, and wraps. -Biohazard and minimal taping supplies. -Bench towels (when appropriate). -Host athletic training student(s) (when appropriate).
