Biography
Carol Ann Franklin earned her doctorate from Indiana University in science education and curriculum and instruction. Her dissertation research focused on the acquisition of teaching skills.

She has directed the teacher education, the liberal studies, and the masters and post-masters educational leadership programs. She collaboratively led the design and development of many programs including the post-master’s program in educational leadership. She served the University of Redlands as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs as well as Dean of Planning and Institutional Research. She is currently the director of the second level educational leadership program, educational technology, and coordinates the teacher performance assessment program.

Her research includes assessment, teacher performance, teacher education, emergent leadership skills, curriculum development and implementation in geographic information systems in K-12 classrooms, and organizational response to racism. She has published using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. She has directed, been the principal investigator, and primary evaluator external grants.

She has served as a member of the Panel on Educational Leadership for the California Commission on Teacher Education and a program evaluator for the credential program approval process. She has served on committees for doctoral candidates at Claremont Graduate School.
