Dr. Jennifer King was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA. She is a first-generation college student and an alumni from the University of Redlands where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a Doctorate in Education, Leadership for Educational Justice. She also earned her Masters of Arts degree in English Pedagogy from California Baptist University. Dr. King has experience as a prior high school English teacher where she served students in low-income, marginalized schools. Dr. King is proud to be a part of the Redlands area and is thankful to have the opportunity to help students and families in her community through her work with the Rochford Leadership Initiative.

She believes strongly in the power of an education, something that was ingrained in her by her parents, and is determined to help students, particularly first-generation students, achieve their goals. It is also important to Dr. King that families be recognized as having an important role in their children’s lives and achievements. Having benefited herself from the strong support system of her own family, Dr. King strongly believes in assisting families as they strive to support their own children. She looks forward to celebrating the efforts of Rochford scholars and families as their goals are achieved.
