is presently a partner in the Irvine office of Fisher and Phillips LLP, a national labor-employment law firm where his law practice is concentrated on wage and hour law, class action, and employment litigation. John has a unique blend of management, teaching, and professional work as an attorney. John provides professional counseling, edits the law firm's California wage and hour newsletter, conducts webinars, and provides legal representation for his many clients in the state and federal courts.
Before attending law school, John worked in various management positions in a prominent fortune 500 company in Los Angeles, during which he earned his MA in management from the University of Redlands. Mark Jacobs is a partner in the Irvine office. His practice is focused on defending employment related lawsuits and administrative complaints on a variety of issues, including harassment, retaliation and discrimination. Mark represents employers in both state and federal courts as well as before state and federal agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. Mark has experience in handling complex, multi-plaintiff harassment and discrimination matters, wage and house and other administrative matters. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to preventive employee relation programs that include supervisory training and the development and administration of effective human resources polices and practices. Mark is a frequent lecturer before trade groups, associations, insurance organizations, and private employers. He regularly conducts in-house management seminars and training sessions for executives, supervisors, managers, and human resources professionals in all aspects of labor and employment law, including hiring and firing, FMLA, ADA, arbitration, wage and hour compliance, and equal employment opportunity law. Prior to joining the firm, Mark worked as a Legislative Aide in the California State Assembly and served as a Deputy Attorney General in the California Attorney General's Office.
John Dana Mitchellweiler received his B.A. in Economics from Arizona State University and Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law with Dean's List and individual class honors. He returned to school after operating a small family business, tripling its revenue in five years. During his first years as a law firm associate, Dana obtained experience perfectly suited for advice to small and medium sized business owners. He began his own practice in 1999 with a focus on the needs of business owners and has continued that model to this day.
