A diverse cast plays multiple roles, inhabiting constantly shifting time-spaces and modes of reality, exploding facts of history in order to mine emotional and poetic events-ultimately revealing the striving, beating human heart that propels every nation towards the realization of its more perfect union.

Stories We Tell . . .

Stories We Tell featured the choreography, live music, and original video of seven dance artists who call Southern California home. From ex-professional ballerinas to site-specific improvisers and performance artists, these choreographers have a wild variety of personal and professional experience and are representative of the diversity of the contemporary dance world. War and displacement, traveling carnivals, submariners, alien abduction and hyper-femininity are a few of the themes explored in this show, which also features performers of many different ages and skill sets. Creators of the evening's work include Stephanie Gilliland, Sofia Carreras, Sue Roginski, Patrick Doran-Sheeran, Kirsten Johansen, Megan Fowler-Hurst and Tracy Tom-Hoon, with technical direction by Trevor Norton.
