Program Learning Outcomes - Economics

Bachelor of Arts

Students graduating with a BA degree in Economics will:

  1. Utilize microeconomic or macroeconomic theory to analyze a specific economic scenario.

  2. Utilize data to gain insight into a specific economic relationship.

  3. Utilize economic history and/or the history of economic ideas to inform a comprehensive understanding of a current economic perspective or event.

  4. Integrate at least one other disciplinary perspective with economic analysis to produce a critical assessment of a social problem.

  5. Formulate an economic research question and produce a review of the relevant scholarly economic literature as part of an independent research project.

  1. Utilize microeconomic or macroeconomic theory to analyze a specific economic scenario.

  3. Critically evaluate the relationships between the structure and operation of financial market institutions and the economy.

  4. Apply microeconomic theory to produce a written assessment of the industrial structure, firm conduct, and economic performance of a specific industry.

  5. Formulate an economic research question and produce a review of the relevant scholarly economic literature as part of an independent research project.
