Professor Emeritus of International Business and Marketing (IBM) Department at the California State Polytechnic University, at Pomona (2007).

Past teaching engagement included the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.

Professional Experience

International marketing consultant with clients including U.S. companies, U.S. Department of State, Foreign Service Institute - National and International Affairs, and a diverse range of companies in Latin America, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Awards and Honors

Awards include the Book of Honor, The George Washington Gold Medal (Economic Education 1984, 1985), and Best Paper at the West Decision Sciences Institute Conference (1995), and California State Polytechnic University's Wang Excellence Award (first recipient in 1999). He is the winner of ten Outstanding Teaching Awards. He is also listed in Men of Achievement (Vol. 8, Cambridge, England), Who's Who in Business and Finance, and Who's Who in the West. He was selected for membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for collegiate schools of business, "in recognition of high scholastic achievement" (1996), and "Favorite" faculty member in 2007 "for dedication to teaching and making students' experiences worthwhile."


Textbooks published titled Marketing Principles and Practices: An Introductory Approach, Novus Publishing 2008 edition with CD updates; Marketing Strategy: A Global Perspective, Thomson Learning 2003; Professional Selling: A Relationship Process, Dryden Press, 1995.

Professional Affiliations

Served on the editorial board of several publications including the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Consumer Marketing, Services Marketing, Product and Brand Management, and Applied Business Research. Articles and presentations encompass Marketing, Professional Selling, International Business, Strategic Planning, and Sports Business (highlighting the Olympics). Co-developer of the model for Balancing Customer Expectations and Perceptions of Service Level. One of the pioneers in the study of "relationship selling."
