Central Apartments

The University owns and manages a 23-unit apartment complex, the Central Avenue Apartments, adjacent to and within a short walking distance to campus for the use of our graduate students and university-sanctioned visitors. The complex is composed of a mixture of single-story furnished duplexes and cottages clustered around a private driveway. There are 9 one-bedroom and 13 two-bedroom apartments, with one apartment occupied by the University’s resident property manager. Residents share the use of a private swimming pool that is restricted to the Central Avenue Apartment residents.

  • In apartments within walking distance of campus. Apartments are furnished, and most are 2-bedroom apartments, with kitchens, shared by 2 to 3 students.
  • Students may prepare their own meals or purchase meals on campus in our state-of-the-art dining facility offering non-vegetarian and vegetarian meals.
  • Students may use University shuttles for transportation into town for shopping, movies, restaurants, etc.
  • Students must provide a down payment prior to arrival if they wish to secure housing.  

University Housing Costs

The annual rate varies depending on the room type you choose. Rent is billed three times per year. 

The first payment, which is equal to four month's rent, is due no later than two weeks prior to the first day of classes, and is non-refundable once the student becomes a resident.

These rates include:
  • Bedroom, living room and dining room furniture
  • Campus high-speed network connections in each bedroom and living room
  • Kitchen appliances including stove, refrigerator, microwave, and basic kitchenware
  • Laundry facilities on-site
  • Use of the pool
  • Heating and air conditioning units
  • Weekly bathroom cleaning in each unit
  • Individually keyed bedroom doors
  • Utilities - Electricity, Gas, Water and Trash
  • Apartments are cable ready (students are responsible for cable and telephone)

 

Since these are long-term residential units, only some linens are provided. Residents need to provide their own pillows, blankets, towels and kitchen linens. Mattresses are XL Twin size.

Housing is limited and it is recommended students request housing as soon as possible. Above costs are estimates and do not include cost of meals. If there is an outstanding balance on the account, all transcripts and degree confirmations will be held until payment in full is received. All costs represent current fiscal year 2017-2018 housing rates. Housing fees are subject to change.
