Rangi Ya Giza is designed for male students interested in advancing social justice for all on the Redlands campus and beyond. The group is a brotherhood that focuses on brotherhood, diversity, leadership and service at the local, national and international levels.

RYG was founded in 1992 as a response to the Los Angeles race conflict, as part of an effort to address apathy about the events surrounding the riots. Today, RYG continues to focus on and celebrate the differences members believe are beneficial to the success of any group.

Through the years, RYG has garnered a number of awards on campus, including the Organization Service Award, Organization of the Year and Program of the Year. Off-campus organizations also have recognized the group for its efforts at service and social activism, both on campus and in area communities.

The University has five Centers of Distinction.
