WROLC is a great way to teach your peers about Outdoor Leadership!  Leading a workshop is not only cheaper (#collegelife), it's also a great way to develop as an outdoor educator!  We highly encourage folks to lead workshops, even if you've never done so before!

If you're interested please submit a proposal here,

Additional Information

U of R Outdoor Programs is working hard to bring 2018 WROLC to ya'll.  We're so excited to share our program with everyone, and even more excited to learn about all the great stuff that ya'll are doing in your programs.

This year's theme for WROLC is ACCESSING THE WILD.  We're looking forward to learning about how we access our wilderness, who has access to our programs, and how we can continue to create accessible avenues promoting outdoor education!

The outdoor community is a place that has alwyas committed itself to community based growth, and we look forward to continuing that tradition with WROLC 2018.

FAQ's

Where can we crash?

While we don't have enough couches for all of you, we do have a nice field where you can set up a tent city.  Our field will have access to bathrooms (read toilets and sinks) and will be fenced in, although we do not take responsibility for items that you leave in your tents.  Showers are...let's call them severely limited...so don't anticipate access to showers during WROLC.

What can we expect the weather to be like?

Down here in SoCal we don't really understand what this question means...I guess we'd call it "winter" in January so maybe bring a light flannel and consider socos or birkensocks?  In all seriousness, it can get a wee bit chilly in January in the mornings/evenings.  Average highs are around 67 degrees with lows in the mid 40's.

How can I help promote a sustainable WROLC?

While a pack list is on the way, we would love to encourage folks to bring your own plate/bowl, spoon/fork/spork, reusable water bottle, & hot drink mug to help minimize waste during meals and snacks.
