Only about 10 percent of the nation’s institutions of higher learning have Phi Beta Kappa chapters. Redlands is one of the universities that has this prestigious honor society, which celebrates and advocates excellence in the liberal arts and sciences.

Only the most outstanding arts and sciences students can be inducted into the society. Only about 10 percent of the arts and sciences graduates of the institutions with Phi Beta Kappa chapters are selected for membership.

Once inducted, students participate in a variety of activities designed to advance the study of the humanities, the social sciences and the natural sciences and to allow high-performing students to interact and network.
