Meet the Residence Life Staff
The Residence Life and Housing hall staff includes paraprofessional student employees and full-time professionals with bachelor's and master’s degrees.
Community Assistants live on each floor and are responsible for community development, programming and policy enforcement. They are undergraduate students who are trained in helping skills, crisis management, community-building and student development. These students are on duty in their communities from 7pm-7am every day to assist students, build relationships, and respond to crises.
Community Directors are Junior or Senior students who are responsible for the day-to-day management of their communities and the supervision of the Community Assistants. They receive advanced training in leadership theory, supervision and crisis management.
Our professional staff consists of 13 highly qualified individuals working together to provide the best possible experience for Redlands undergraduate students on campus.
Our six Resident Directors are professionals who are responsible for the day-to-day management of their residence halls, supervision of the Community Assistants, facilitation of the Student Conduct Process, and a number of other responsibilities within our department. They also serve in collateral assignments working with the Student Leadership and Involvement Center (SLIC), Campus Diversity and Inclusion (CDI), or Student Conduct.
Our Johnston Residence Hall Coordinator is an administrator who facilitates community life in the Johnston Complex for the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies.
Our two Assistant Directors are master's level professionals who supervise Assistant Residence Hall Directors and Community Directors, in addition to serving as conduct officers and assisting with departmental projects.
The department is led by the Director of Residence Life and Housing. These professional staff members oversee the operations of the departments and supervise the professional staff members.
All our live-in staff are trained in helping skills, crisis management, and student development theory. They provide assistance and support to your students. A member of the professional staff is always on call and can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist with crisis and emergencies.
