Kappa Pi Zeta

Nickname: Zeta
Colors: Royal Blue, Seafoam Green, and Silver
Year Founded: 1926 (Re-founded 2011) —the nation’s first environmentally focused sorority
Values: Individuality, Creativity, Compassion for Nature, and Zeal for the Future

Kappa Pi Zeta is a newly re-founded sorority that emphasizes creating awareness and understanding of environmental issues as they relate to the role of each individual.  Active members of Zeta seek to unite women through a shared passion and a common goal of creating a sustainable future.  Our sisters are involved in a full array of campus and community life including Maroon and Grey, Senate, FIE, Dance Co., Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board, Theatre, Athletics, Delta Sigma Pi, ASUR, Admissions Hosts, Kappa Pi Art Fraternity, Community Assistants, Big Buddies, Jasper’s Corner, KDAWG, Outdoor Programs, and the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies.

Our philanthropy is the Wildlands Conservancy in Oak Glen, California.  Recently, we were able to work closely with the Redlands community in the Redlands Sustainability Festival and at Prospect Park.

There are more than 1,700 trees on the University of Redlands campus.

In April 2010, it was designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Redlands is among just three other colleges or universities in California to receive this designation.
