Chi Ro Psi

Nickname: Chi Rho Psi
Colors: Red, White, and Black
Values: Aspire Nobly, Adventure Daringly, Serve Humbly
Year Founded: 1927 (Re-Founded in 2001)

Chi Rho Psi was founded on the principles of brotherhood, academics and community service. Chi Rho Psi members are involved in all aspects of the U of R community such as Big Buddies, swimming, football, music and Habitat for Humanity. Activities for community service have included helping the Red Cross during the 2003 wild fires, Hoop Shots at the YMCA, Redlands Recreation Department and sponsoring Health and Fitness Week and Disability Awareness Week.

Since its refounding in 2001, Chi Rho Psi has earned the school’s Community Service Award each semester, Greek Academic Award several times as well as Highest New Member class GPA. We’ve also won best party for “Fast Times at the U of R.”

Chi Rho Psi was initially founded in 1927. In the wake of the Great Depression the organization faded. However, in 2001 fourteen intrepid individuals re-founded Chi  Rho Psi based on the principles of brotherhood, academics and community service. The Founding Fourteen have since graduated, but have left behind a legacy to uphold. The fraternity house’s walls are covered in awards for excellence in academics and service. As for the brotherhood, I suppose you’ll have to come meet us to experience it.

Our members are a diverse group coming from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. We have many interests and involved in virtually every facet of campus life: Big Buddies, ASUR, Res Life, Admissions, Feast of Lights, Maroon and Grey, Lacrosse, Track and Field, Swim and Diving, Football, Accounting society, Redlands Student Investment Fund, Delta Sigma Pi, Key for a cure, 1 in 4, Music Changing Lives, Cabinet, Senate, Culinary  Culture,  Chem Club, Math Club and Hillel. We participate in numerous projects in the Greater Redlands Community, including: Habitat for Humanity, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Redlands Bike Classic, and Men's Health Week. We also love to have a good time and host massive parties such as: P is for Party, Roses are Red (Valentine's) Party, and a Foam Party. This year we bought back the award winning Fast Times at the U of R ('80s party)!

The University has a long tradition of encouraging and supporting study abroad.
