There are certain restrictions on changing to F-1 and J-1 status for individuals who are already in the United States in nonimmigrant status.
Please check with the International Student Analyst at 909-748-8716 for advising on eligibility to change status to F-1 or J-1 and concerning documentations required by the USCIS Service Center.
Any benefits of F-1 and J-1 status, including employment eligibility, are not available until the change of status application is approved by USCIS.
